Full team participation is necessary for competition season. Coaches must be notified of any absence before practice. Practices are planned ahead; please respect that by giving your coaches ample notice of your absence.
Be Prompt
Members must be on time to all practices and events. Athletes who are late to practice miss out on the proper warm up and stretch period, which is essential in injury prevention.

A competition schedule will be handed out to each team member. Not all teams will attend all competitions.
Have Positive Attitudes
All team members need to be supportive of their fellow team members as well as their coaches. Disrespect of any kind or negative attitudes will not be tolerated. All cheerleaders are expected to display good sportsmanship AT ALL TIMES!
Keep the Gym Clean
No food, drink (except water), candy or gum is allowed in the gym.
Watching Practice
Parents are welcome to stay and watch practice from our viewing area. Parents are not allowed in the gym area unless invited by coaching staff. Coaches will do their best to be available after practice for any questions or concerns appointments can also be scheduled if desired. Please do not interrupt coaches during practice time.

Any abusive or negative behavior towards a team member or any other club through any media (internet) will be grounds for dismissal.
Respect for other Teams
All Rocket cheer team members, parents and staff will be respectful of other squad members and competition rules. We want to exhibit professionalism through our behavior at competitions and events. Stay Informed
Members are responsible for finding out any missed information.
Safety First
Jeopardizing the safety of one’s self or another team member will be immediate grounds for disciplinary actions or dismissal.
Team Comes First
Practice and competitions are not to be used as punishment for your child’s actions away from the gym. It not only punishes your child, but everyone else on the team. Many people are investing a lot of time and money into the TEAM.
Attendance
We expect 110% from each athlete. Mandatory practices begin in September 1st.
Excused absence – parents must e-mail ahead of time. Absences will only be excused for serious illness or a school event that is part of a grade. A school dance, a birthday party, or a lot of homework is not an excuse to miss practice. If you make a commitment to this program, you may need to sacrifice social events on occasion.
Unexcused absence – is not informing coach of missing practice. Also missing practice for a social event. Unexcused absence will not be tolerated and dealt with in a serious manner.
Make-up classes
Tumbling classes will have the same make up policy/method as all other planet gymnastics classes. There are no make ups for team practice. We understand that there are circumstances that become unavoidable, but please keep in mind that this is a team sport and unlike other team sports, the success of others depends on EVERYONE working together. Your actions affect others.
No cell phones
If there is an emergency situation, inform your coach and they will be happy to hold your phone for you.
Schedule and Tuition
Team practice
Generally will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, times differ per team. See our cheer team schedule in our forms list.
Tumbling practice
One hour per week of tumbling class is included in your team tuition. These classes are offered throughout the week at various times and can be scheduled in the office. These classes are on a first come first serve basis. Make ups will follow the same self serve system as all other gymnastics classes offered at Planet Gymnastics.
Registration – a $35.00 annual fee is due when teams are chosen. All team members must pay this fee, there are no exceptions.
Monthly tuition
Differs per team, to be taken out automatically on the first of each month. All team members must have an EFT form on file. (available at the office)
Competition Fees
Varies per venue, all competitions must be paid for prior to the event. A ten dollar late fee will be applied to any late competition fees for the 2018-2019 season.
Discounts
Normal sibling discounts apply for tuition only. Sorry no discounts for competition fees.
Individual Competition
Some competitions offer individual competitions for Jumps, Tumbling, Stunts, and All Around. Athletes will be given the opportunity to sign up for these events prior to each competition. The athlete is responsible to pay the fee for that event at the time of registration.
Individual competition victories look great on college applications and make earning scholarships easier.
Competition Rules
Full Uniforms
Full uniforms will be worn at every competition. NO JEWELRY! Coaches are not responsible for holding any jewelry at competitions.
Hair
Hair will be worn the same by all team members. Decisions on hair will be made by coaches. Please do your very best to have your hair competition ready at time of arrival to competition. Re-doing 30 sets of hair before teams compete is an added stress to coaches and takes time away from warm up and practice.
Warm ups
Warm ups will be worn before and after each competition. Cheerleaders will be in full uniform or warm up (fully zipped) throughout the competition. At no time may an athlete change into clothing in stands or in the hallways at the competition. The entire team should be in the same uniform for award ceremony. Cheerleaders must be at the entire competition including award ceremonies to be supportive of all teams.
